[09.10.2026] As of this moment, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has not issued a formal announcement regarding an extension of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for El Salvador. However, USCIS has updated its website and posted an Alert indicating that TPS El Salvador beneficiaries remain protected under TPS and that their work permits remain valid.
USCIS has also stated in the Alert that the agency will issue a formal announcement when appropriate.

IMPORTANT IMMIGRATION UPDATE: Advance Parole Travel
[08.13.2026] A recent immigration decision (Matter of DELCARMEN-LARA, 29 I&N Dec. 830 (BIA 2026) has changed the effect that traveling with Advance Parole may have on certain immigrants.
If you have accrued unlawful presence in the U.S. for more than one year, leaving the country on Advance Parole could now trigger a 10-year penalty. This penalty may block you from returning to the U.S. and prevent you from obtaining other immigration benefits. The decision states that this policy change does not apply retroactively.
